TENSA designed and built a helicopter portable solids control system for use with Oil Search’s ZJ50DB drill rigs. The system achieved a 30% reduction in the number of modules from 20 to 14 whilst maintaining total pit capacity.

TENSA supplied both gripper and bearing clamps for an upcoming drilling project for a major Australian oil and gas operator. These include the rental of 20″, 13 3/8″and 36″ gripper clamps, as well as the design and supply of a 36″ bearing clamp.

TENSA designed and built custom polyethylene centralisers as part of a package to support an upcoming drilling project for a major Australian oil and gas operator. The centralisers are designed to allow dual wells to be used in a single large conductor.

TENSA designed and built a splittable BOP Lift Frame with a 40T lifting capacity. The frame was constructed in accordance with API Spec C standards and included a surface treatment of the frame, all in a 5 week time frame.

DYNAMIC MOTION SYSTEM

Cooper Energy hired TENSA DMS Mini complete with its full monitoring software application for their offshore operations on the Ocean Monarch rig.
TENSA DMS is especially useful to monitor heave velocity, pitch and roll for Cooper Energy’s operations in Bass Strait renowned for its consistent long period swells coming from the Southern Ocean. Data was easily logged, reviewed and emailed to allow critical decisions to be made when the rig motions approached workability limits.

Teekay Shipping (Australia) recently purchased TENSA DMS Mini motion monitoring system for use on the FSO Dampier Spirit located approximately 40 km off the coast from Karratha.
Teekay, the operator of Dampier Spirit will use the DMS for general motion monitoring and as a backup for their Helideck Motion System (HMS). Having TENSA’s DMS Mini allows Teekay to continue to maintain safe helicopter operations to the facility without any interruption. Teekay initially rented the DMS but were so impressed with the ease of use and functionality that within a few days they decided to buy the unit.

DYNAMIC LOAD REDUCERS

Offshore lifting in the Dampier Archipelago

Austral Construction approached TENSA Equipment to supply a Dynamic Load Reducer in order to facilitate an offshore lift in the Dampier Archipelago. The project involved lifting an 80t load from a floating barge to a static platform.
A rental TENSA DLR100L was used on the project, increasing the cranes lift capacity when subjected to vessel motions and improving safety significantly during the operation.

Paragon Offshore completed its purchase of a TENSA DLR 60L for its offshore operations in India.
Instead of renting the DLR on a project basis, Paragon Offshore saw an immediate and long term need to purchase the DLR. The DLR will be used to reduce the crane dynamic loads for its heavy lifts and to ensure uninterrupted crane operations during heavy weather due to the monsoon season in the area.

Tensa provided a DLR 250 for lifting of many components of the intake straucture weighing up to 220 tonnes. The system included the Dynamic Lift System that uses gas to allow a quick lift from the vessel deck.

Columbia Power’s Brilliant Expansion (BRX) Generating Station

TENSA were contracted to supply a solution to reduce the dynamic load on the maintenance crane at Columbia Power’s Brilliant Expansion (BRX) Generating Station to within the acceptable crane manufacturer standards in Canada. We designed a DLR60 module when lifting the stop logs in order to reduce the dynamic load caused by the wave action.
